Holiday travelers are facing a challenging season at Sacramento International Airport, with flight cancellations and delays becoming a common occurrence. The holiday rush has brought a surge in travelers, but some are finding their journeys disrupted. Reed Gibson, who had his flight home canceled, shared his experience: 'We had an email earlier saying that it may have been delayed, and now we got an email saying it's canceled, and we're at the Frontier desk. The woman told us there's no more flights today. Everything's canceled. They don't have any customer service on site, so I guess I'm gonna have to get on the phone and see if I can get that flight rebooked.'
Erin Brandt, another traveler, recounted her attempts to find alternative travel options: 'The first phone call explained what I need to happen. I have to get down there today, and he's like, nope, we have no options for you. Cool. Let's expand other airports, other airlines. He's like, nope, I have nothing. Like, what about San Jose? Oakland? What can we do here?'
Brandt and other travelers are taking matters into their own hands, offering ridesharing solutions to fellow stranded passengers. However, some, like Christopher Randell, are resigned to waiting until tomorrow, as their schedules don't allow them to make it to Sacramento in time. The airport spokesperson noted that international delays overnight were due to fog.
Frontier Airlines, the airline in question, has not yet provided a comment on the cancellations. This situation highlights the challenges faced by holiday travelers, with some seeking alternative methods and others resigned to waiting. It's a reminder that travel plans can be unpredictable, and flexibility is key during the busy holiday season.
